It is a dental treatment where a lost tooth/teeth is/are replaced using artificial teeth like structures. It can be either removable or fixed.
They are of two types complete & partial. Complete dentures are advised for patients with no natural remaining teeth whereas, in partial denture cases there are few natural teeth missing. The support is taken from the underlying gums and jaw bones. At VDH, we have two types of partial dentures cast partial dentures and acrylic dentures.
They are fixed replacement of teeth. They are recommended for patients who desire a fixed replacement and who have remaining natural teeth present on either sides of the missing tooth/teeth. The support for bridges is taken from the adjacent teeth and they are fixed using a cement. They are fabricated in our in house lab using digital technology.
